Definition

Tabletop is the part of the commercial industry. Its describe works with highspeed/slow-motion cameras such as Phantom, special robots - motion control like Bolt and customize rig. The Tabletop director is mostly connected with food but it can be all kind of shoots including demo products and other that involved slowmotion and another technic to catch the moment of beauty invisible with the bare eye. Very often the tabletop director or foodfilm director works with special lenses like a macro lenses, Frazier lenses or endoscope lenses. Of course not all shoot need highspeed camera Phantom, (especially foodfilm) some of them can be done by using regular movies cameras such as Alexa or Red. Tabletop directors are commercial artists whose goal is to make mundane foods look so irresistible that people want to eat the TV.
